A  pipe tee is a pipe fitting used in plumbing and in piping systems to connect three pipes or male threaded fittings together a 90 degree angle to each other. A pipe T fitting is a short piece of pipe in the shape of a “T’ with female threads on all three ends. It differs from most other threaded fittings in that it 3 ports, two ports are inline and the third port is at a 90 degree angle. A tee is generally described as having one inlet port and two outlet ports, however it can also be described as having two inlet ports and one outlet. This feature of having three ports that are internally threaded enables three pipes to be connected at right angles to each other. They can be used for splitting or diverting a supply line when a single pipe is split into two outlets. They can also be used for mixing or combining when two pipes are combined into one outlet. Finally they can be used to change the direction of the pipe run and they can also add another ”branch“ to the piping system. The internal threads of this pipe T fitting will thread into corresponding male threads of the same size. These NPT tee fittings have tapered National Pipe Threads (NPT threads) , which form a water-tight and secure connection when installed properly. This makes stainless steel Tee ideal for a wide range of industrial piping, plumbing, HVAC and water distribution, wherever three pipe need to be connected or where the flow of fluid needs to be split or combined.
