- Description:
- ● Stainless steel bushing reducers are threaded reducers with larger external male threads and reduced female threads on the inside of the bushing.
- ● It resembles a threaded hex plug with larger external threads and smaller internal threads in the center of the bushing.
- Used for:
- ● Pipe bushing reducers are used to reduce the size of a female pipe thread.
- ● They can also be used in increase the size of a male pipe thread.
- ● These thread reducers are used to connect pipes and fittings of different sizes together.
- Advantage:
- ●The advantage of a threaded bushing over a coupling reducer is the space saving.
- ● A hex bushing fits mostly into the female pipe thread with only the hex head and a small portion of the thread protruding.
- To Install:
- ● Thread the larger male thread into a female thread of the same size.
- ● Thread the smaller female thread onto a male thread of the same size
- Sizing:
- ● This threaded bushing reducer is sized according the larger external male thread and then by the smaller internal female threads.
- ● For Example: A 3/4" to 1/2" Bushing will have a larger 3/4" Male thread and a smaller 1/2"female thread.
- Also Called:
- ● Bushing Hex .
- ● Bushing Pipe.
- ● Bushing Threaded.
- More Options:
- ● Another option are Bell Reducers which are also thread reducers with female threads on either end.

- Material of Construction:
- ● Constructed out of Stainless Steel 304 & 316.
More Information:
A pipe bushing reducer is a threaded reducer used in piping systems and in plumbing, designed to increase or reduce the thread size. This enables pipes of different diameters or fittings of different sizes to be connected to a system. A threaded bushing is shaped like a hex plug with large external threads on the outside, but differs from the hex plug in that it also has a opening in the center with smaller internal threads. The Hex shaped head enables the threaded reducing bushing to be tightened with more force, and also makes it easier for them to be loosened and removed. The larger external thread of the pipe bushing reducer will thread into the larger fitting or pipe, while the smaller internal thread screws onto the smaller fitting or pipe. This enables a larger fitting to transition to a smaller thread size or for a larger pipe to transition to a smaller pipe size. These hex bushings are ideal to reduce the thread of a female pipe thread, since they simply screw into a female thread like a plug, and in so doing change the thread size. In this way bushings save space when compared to bell reducer couplings, as most of the stainless bushing fits inside the female thread it is connecting to with only the hex head exposed and a small portion of external threading. In the same way they can also be used to increase the thread size of a male pipe thread simply by screwing the internal thread of the pipe reducer bushing onto a male thread of the same size. These NPT bushing fittings have tapered NPT threads (National Pipe Threads) , which form a secure and water-proof connection when properly installed. This makes them ideal for a wide range of applications, including residential, commercial, and industrial settings, where flow rates need to be managed and where connections need to be adapted. Manufactured out of stainless steel 304 & 316 making them durable, rust and corrosion resistance.
